GCFFA’s 7th annual Mountain Mayhem Mountain Bike Races!

WHEN: May 20th 2023

WHERE: GCFD Station #41 • 1110 Friendly Pines Rd Prescott, AZ 86303

Organized by the Groom Creek Firefighter’s Association

Mountain Mayhem is located in the stunning Ponderosa Pine forest of Groom Creek, 5 miles South of Prescott,

and utilizes some of the most highly rated mountain bike trails in the Bradshaw mountains!

Both the 10 mile and 20 mile races start and finish at Groom Creek Fire District Station 41.

Both races consist of the 10 mile north loop, with the 20 milers then heading south for another completely different 10 mile south loop.

Both loops are a mixture of single track trails and two track forest service roads. There is a small paved section at the beginning winding through the community.

Note that the 10 and 20 mile distances are approximate. Mileage may vary just a bit.

Attention Mountain Mayhem riders! Yes, we are still a GO for the 7th! 😊
Currently the forest in our area is closed,
BUT with conditions quickly improving on the Crooks fire,
the local USFS leadership was generous enough
to grant our event and riders a special exemption
to continue the race and use all trails in our normal race course.
We are excited to see you on the 7th.
INFO for our friends & riders coming up…
-Best parking will be at Friendly pines Camp at 933 Friendly Pines Rd,
best accessed off of Marapai Rd, just a short walk or ride up to starting line.
-Starting line and all other activities take place at
1110 Friendly Pines Rd @Station 41.
-Mandatory check in for all riders starts at 8:00am
20 mile racers will start at 9:00am
10 mile racers will start at 9:15am
Day of signup will be available!
Free bag check in will be available.
Any spectators will not be allowed to watch the riders in any place
except for Station 41 due to the forest closure.

We are sorry to inform our enthusiastic mountain bikers that we have been forced to cancel our event this year. We will be back in 2019 so please check back next spring!

 

The Groom Creek Firefighter’s Association will once again be hosting its annual spaghetti dinner event on Labor Day Weekend, Saturday September 2nd. Dinner will be served between 5pm – 7pm. The meal includes spaghetti, salad, drink and desert and will take place at Station 41 (1110 E Friendly Pines Rd, Prescott AZ 86303).

All proceeds will benefit the Groom Creek Firefighter’s Association.

Prices are as follows:

  • Adults 12 & Up:  $10
  • Children 3 – 12:  $5
  • Three & Under:  FREE
